Hosting and connection information
This website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.
When you open a page, Cloudflare processes connection and request information, including your IP address, the page you requested, and technical information about the connection. This processing helps deliver the website and protect it against abuse.
Optional website request logging and tracing are disabled, and we have not configured exports of those diagnostics to other services. Cloudflare still processes traffic data to operate and secure its services.
The legal basis for delivering and protecting this website is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is providing a reliable website and preventing abuse. Provider-managed traffic data is retained according to the needs of service operation, security, and legal obligations, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Disabling optional request logs does not set a single deletion period for all data Cloudflare processes.
Cloudflare operates a global network, and personal data may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Cloudflare explains its processing and retention practices in its privacy policy, and its processing terms and international transfer safeguards in its Data Processing Addendum.
Cloudflare identifies the EU–US Data Privacy Framework as a basis for covered transfers to the United States, and standard contractual clauses for other relevant international transfers. Its Data Processing Addendum explains those safeguards and how to obtain their terms.
Cookies and additional scripts
We have not configured optional visitor analytics or third-party marketing tools through our hosting provider. Cloudflare may use security cookies when handling a security challenge. These support protection against automated abuse. See Cloudflare’s security cookie information for details.
Contact by email
If you email us, the website operator processes your email address, any name you provide, your message and attachments, and the associated correspondence details to answer support, feedback, and privacy enquiries. Providing this information is voluntary; we need enough information to understand your request and reply. Only the operator handles these messages within the LEU project.
Routine enquiries are processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact the project. Where a privacy request requires us to meet a legal obligation, the basis is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR together with the applicable GDPR obligation.
The published contact address uses Proton’s email-alias service to forward messages to Proton Mail, provided by Proton AG, Route de la Galaise 32, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland. Proton and its alias-service subsidiary SimpleLogin process delivery and mailbox data as described in their Proton Mail privacy policy and SimpleLogin privacy policy. Switzerland has an EU adequacy decision.
Email retention
Routine conversations are permanently deleted from the operator’s mailbox within 90 days after the enquiry is resolved, including related sent messages and attachments. This deletion deadline applies to all mailbox folders. The operator keeps no separate email archives, exports, or backups.
Unresolved matters are kept only while needed to handle the enquiry. A specific legal retention duty or the establishment, exercise, or defence of a legal claim may require keeping the relevant correspondence longer. In that case, retention is limited to the necessary material and purpose, and the material is deleted when that need ends.
Mailbox deletion does not immediately erase every provider-managed copy. Proton states that encrypted service backups are retained for up to 30 days. SimpleLogin states that messages are removed after delivery, while undeliverable messages may be kept for up to seven days. Provider-managed security and delivery records follow the providers’ published retention practices.
Your privacy rights
Subject to the GDPR’s conditions, you can request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, or restriction of processing. Data portability applies where its legal conditions are met. Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you can object for reasons relating to your particular situation. Contact the operator using the email address below to exercise these rights.
You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country of your habitual residence, place of work, or the alleged infringement. The Lower Saxony data protection authorityprovides a complaint route for the region where the operator is based.
We do not use website or contact data for profiling or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
