Meet LEU
LEU means Light Electron Uninstaller. It is an MIT-licensed Windows desktop application in active development. The aim is to help you understand your installed software, run a program’s own uninstaller, and review the files and settings left behind.
The guiding principle is simple: explain every cleanup action before making it. Cleanup is still a planned feature.
Before you look for a download
There is no public installer yet. Visit Releases for availability. Future public installers will be distributed through the application’s official GitHub Releases.
The current build target is Windows 11 on x64. Compatibility with other Windows versions and architectures has not been verified.
Explore the interface
The foundation build has three main areas:
- Installed apps brings together the sample inventory, search, sorting, scope filters, and application details.
- Activity provides a dedicated activity view in the preview.
- Settings shows application information and the local Rust helper connection. The interface follows your system’s light or dark appearance.
The screenshots on the homepage show this foundation build. The application records, sizes, and counts are sample data. Version labels refer to development builds, not public releases.
What this build cannot do
It does not discover real installed applications, run uninstallers, delete leftover files, or request elevated permissions for cleanup. The native helper currently exposes a version handshake; a connected status does not mean that Windows discovery is implemented.
See Current status for a clear distinction between the foundation and future milestones.
